Coach Oketayot’s UCU Lady Cardinals will be set for a first-leg encounter of the FUFA Women’s Cup semi-final tomorrow, Sunday, June 9th, 2024, at our home ground as we host Rines Women Football Club at UCU Grounds in Mukono.
“All the players are fully focused and fit for tomorrow’s encounter as we look forward to a semifinal game that we must win to increase our chances for a place in the final.” Said coach Oketayot
The Lady Cardinals will be looking for a crucial win and an and a strong start to establish control of the two-legged tie. Their attack, led by the in-form Jovia Nakagolo, who has netted four goals in the competition, will aim to find the net early and silence any doubts.
“We are prepared and ready for tomorrow’s match, and our fans should expect a good result,” emphasised Captain Catherine Nakiridde.
The result of this first leg will be crucial in setting the tone for the return leg scheduled for a week later at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium in Wakiso.
A strong performance for UCU could put them in a commanding position to progress to the finals.
